At the end of last year, I decided to renovate my Bathrooms. If any of you have done a bathroom, you will know that it is a HUGE job. I do not have any carpentry skills and after yesterday, I would suggest that only the real talented do-it-yourself guy or a Contractor should tackle a bathroom. I have hired a Contractor. Yesterday, he gutted the bathroom downstairs. OMG what he uncovered was so scary. I am lucky that my house hasn't gone up in smoke. Here are a couple of pictures.
In this picture, you can see a pot light that was a heating light. I can remember when I rented out the suite downstais, that my floor was always warm in my bathroom. I understand that the tennant used to use this light often. Well, you really can't see it, but there is a live wire up there. Then…………….
This is the shower. Can you see the electrical box just below the water taps? I even know that you never do that. There were some hot spots and also there were finishing nails hitting wires. OMG, I am so lucky that nothing has happened. I am going to do an ongoing segment on this blog, to give you updates. I wonder what else he will uncover. Hopefully nothing else. I will keep my fingers crossed
Hope you have a great day.
Stampingly,
Diane

Glad to hear that your house hasn’t gone up in smoke my friend, but do prepare yourself for the unknown. When we bought our house in Sahali we were not ready for the many things we found as we re did each room it was a disaster waiting to happen. Same thing with exposed wires, vents into walls with no way to get out and so on. It was rather scarey as each room seemed to be worse than the last. LOL Have fun doing the reno though. How long is this supposed to take?
See you soon.
Hugs
Diane…please don’t tell my hubby or I’ll never get the downstairs bathroom redone!!!
Hobby lobby Monday….never been to one…exciting.
Do not touch anything metal down there. …..
