It’s getting to look like Christmas in Kamloops
All the stores downtown in Kamloops, are now all decorated for Christmas. Today is our annual Santa Claus parade. It is truly amazing how awesome this parade is for such a small town. It stages just outside our office and we get to see all the floats from the warmth of the office. Some years it has been very noisy with the bands, but that is what it is all about. I can remember for a couple of years, my son entered two floats. It was so exciting to be in the hustle and bustle of getting ready. To say the least, this weekend always puts me in the spirit of Christmas.
I am busy trying to get things ready to go to Calgary. I want to take some crafts to do with Eve. One thing that I want to get done when I am there, is to complete this book. I hope it is something that we all can get into right after Christmas.
This scrapbook is easy enough to do that a three year old can do it with the help of her Grandma. LOL Here are all the pieces that we have to play with. The pages are the divided page protectors.
All of these items can be found on page 22 of the Holiday Catalogue. Fun project eh? ALSO, the binder and page protectors are included in the Holiday Sale. So I am going to get another. One for them and one for me. LOL
I also have some angels to do. As far as I can remember, it is always good to keep the kids busy just before Christmas.
Off to work and watch the staging of the parade. Have a great day.
Stampingly,
Diane
Great idea, Diane! I used to go to the grandkids’ loaded with crafts to do also. It really helps Mom and Dad to keep the kids out of their hair while they make all their busy preparations. One tradition for us was to do a “Memory Book” of the current visit or event… usually a small hand-made book with a few pages of photos and journalling to celebrate our time together and whatever occasion we were celebrating. After just a couple of visits, they were asking as soon as I arrived (or even before) , “What kind of memory book are we going to do this time, Mama-Sam?”. It taught them early the meaning and value of “memories”. Now they have quite a collection of Memory Books saved up! It may not be “cool” to do them now that they are in their pre-teens, but they still get out the whole collection every time we visit now, just to look through and “remember” together.
