To Weld or Not to Weld

There has always been something that I have wanted to try and that is to weld.  I was fortunate that I had one very patient person that was willing to let me give it a try.  Wow, what an experience and it isn't as easy as it looks.  Firstly, I am not sure whether or not, I will continue with this venture but I really want to see whether or not I can turn this into something creative.  hehehe 

I must say that I was really nervous……  the sparks, the noise and the fact that maybe I wasn't going to be able to do this really made my heart race.  Firstly, it was a bit intimidating with all the equipment.

And it isn't a glamorous job.

Terrible selfie, but you get the idea.  Like I said, I was very intimidated, but got a little more confident as I went along.  Here is the first thing that we built. 

Just, lots of metal and welding it together.  I found that I had a hard time seeing what I was welding and was getting frustrated.  Near the end, I was getting the hang of it or at least it felt like it.   After one small burn, just because I tried moving the piece with just my gloves, I finished with this piece.

What a cutie.  I think, I may paint it.  Well that was my adventure last weekend.  What do you think?  LOL
