Counting down to Christmas
Did you know that it is only 4 weeks today until Christmas? Do you countdown?
I love all the different types of advent calendars out there. Donna Griffiths, from the Stampin' Up Training Department, came up with these very simple but effective containers.
To get more info and how to make these, go to this link on the Stampin' Up blog. Countdown to Christmas
Some of the items used in this project, are included in the Huge Holiday Sale.
I have an idea what to make with these containers.. Hmmmmmmm, now my creative juices are flowing. I can't wait to try these.
I am going to send all the advent stuff to Calgary to put into Eve's containers. Because Keira is so small, I am just going to send her gifts down. Baby stuff is too hard to put into little containers. Eve got her advent calendar on her 2nd Christmas and so will Keira. Also if I send anything else, someone might question why it is different.
There are still a couple of days to send me your Christmas Tradition, for a chance to win this stamp set.
I will be doing the draw on December 1. Just leave a comment here or on my Facebook page for a chance to win.
Have a great day.
Stampingly,
Diane
Since my husband and I don’t have family close by at Christmas, we do things with close friends that have become Christmas traditions. One of those traditions for me is a downtown shopping excursion I do with my girlfriends. We pick a day and plan to spend it going from shop to shop in the downtown core. We may buy a lot or just window shop; it’s just a fun way to be all together in the Christmas spirit. Of course what Christmas tradition is without food? We usually have a decadent lunch to rest up from our hard work …lol.
We have been spending Christmas Eve with our best friends since we moved into the house next door to them 33 years ago. When we started their children were young and my girlfriend would sew her girls Christmas pyjamas every Christmas. Christmas Eve we would have Lasagna for dinner with homemade bread and tiramisu for dessert.
We would play games with the kids and then the kids would be given their Christmas pyjamas and they would model them for us before we read the Night Before Christmas and they were tucked into bed.The adults would then play cards until well into the evening.
Once my children came along, I continued the Christmas pyjamas and to this day we (my kids and their spouses as well) still spend Christmas eve with our best friends and their kids who are now married with children themselves. We still have our traditional lasagna, homemade bread and tiramisu for dinner.
My kids still expect their Christmas pyjamas and we still read the Night before Christmas before we go to bed on Christmas Eve.
Kathy,
What a wonderful tradition. Thanks for sharing that.
